cognee is an Apache-2.0 open-source AI memory platform for agents: a self-hosted knowledge graph engine with a four-method API (remember, recall, forget, improve) and a Claude Code plugin. v1.2.2 (Jun 26, 2026) added a truth-subspace reranker; v1.0 collapsed the entire memory layer to a single Postgres instance. The 25.7k-star repo is backed by an arXiv paper (Markovic et al., 2505.24478) and a directional BEAM benchmark (0.79 at 100K, 0.67 at 10M).
